Mike Giegerich here! I’m End Overdose’s Director of Communications.

I’m excited to share a slew of updates on our nonprofit’s efforts in May 2026. Whether it’s distributing a record-breaking number of naloxone doses at EDC or collaborating with amazing artists to spread overdose prevention and response resources, we’ve been hard at work and laser-focused on our mission to save lives.

Read on below for all of the updates and we’ll see you again next month with a fresh stakeholder report!

OUR NATIONWIDE OUTREACH

We reached over 620,000 people, distributed over 30,000 doses of naloxone, trained over 13,000 people, and distributed over 1,000 test strips at 57 events in May alone. This was made possible by our dedicated staff, chapter members, and volunteers nationwide!

We ran booths at numerous events including EDC Las Vegas, Breakaway Atlanta, Project Glow, Illfest, Emo Nite, and many more.

ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT

We collaborated with Levity, DMZ News, Adventure Club, GRAVEDGR, Sippy, Dead X, and Sarah de Warren to signal boost our mission at EDC Las Vegas.

We additionally ran a series of educational videos with alt-rock artist Mothica that eclipsed 200,000 total views.

We also interviewed Student 1 for an immensely insightful story on the End Overdose blog.

Finally, we commenced a series of videos explaining the science behind ketamine. End Overdose is committed to ending the opioid overdose crisis, but we’re additionally prepared to deliver comprehensive education on all substances.

IN THE COMMUNITY

Our Director of Community Engagement & Training A.J. Banuelos took our training on the road to a variety of locales across the West Coast.

Whether it was at the Clark Construction Safety Meeting, the Soho restaurant, or the iHeartRaves LUX Rave event in Las Vegas, his efforts to educate attendees lead to communities having lifesaving knowledge and resources.

Our Southern Regional Director Sierra Jeans trained 250 Arkansas DHS staff members and met with Attorney General Tim Griffin to discuss overdose prevention and response throughout the state.

We received 22 total chapter applications nationwide – including 14 college applications, 8 area applications, and 3 high school ambassador applications!
